Migrating from Netlify to Cloudflare for AI bot protection (new article!) #
Before writing new content on my site, I wanted to better protect it from AI bots and scrapers. My blog is part of my marketing strategy. In this article, I covered the steps I went through to migrate my hosting platform to take advantage of a new service by Cloudflare to block AI bots. Read now...
New blogroll page #
After admiring other indie web folks' blogrolls for the last few years, I finally had a chance to add one to my website. Here are my favorite sites, blogs, and newsletters... check it out.
From other folks on the web #
A few things by other folks I enjoyed consuming this past month:
- Web Accessibility Cookbook: Creating Inclusive Experiences by Manuel Matuzović. This book is exactly what I needed - a set of recipes for doing common web dev stuff but in an accessible way. I've already used it to refactor several elements.
- Don't Use JS for That: Moving Features to CSS and HTML by Kilian Valkhof
- Common misconceptions about how to optimize LCP by Brendan Kenny
- Monitor Core Web Vitals with the web-vitals.js Library by Umar Hansa
/Offline #
- I read Supercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection by Charles Duhigg first through a library e-book, then purchased a physical copy myself because I found it so helpful. I'm not always great at communication, and I found the strategies, tips, and stories in this book to be insightful and helpful. Highly recommend!
- The weather is starting to be not as oppressive, so I'm excited to join another urban sketching group this weekend.
This newsletter is reader-supported. If you buy a book from one of the links above, I'll earn some coffee money. You don't pay a higher price, and Bookshop.org supports independent booksellers.
